Ingredients
- 6 cups fresh blueberries
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter chilled and cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup whole milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F or 190 C and grease a 9-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the blueberries, 1/2 cup sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir well and pour into the prepared baking dish.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the milk and stir just until the mixture comes together.
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter over the top of the blueberry mixture.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the blueberries are bubbling.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
