Ingredients
- 2 c. blueberries
- juice of 1/2 lemon
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 c. sifted flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
Instructions
- ine a well-greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan with blueberries.
- Sprinkle with lemon juice.
- Cream sugar and butter together; add milk alternately with flour, baking powder and salt, which have been sifted together.
- Pour this batter evenly over blueberries.
- Combine sugar and cornstarch.
- Sprinkle over the top of the cake.
- Pour boiling water over all and bake in a 375 F of 190 C oven for 1 hour. Serves 9.
