Ingredients
- 3 cups of all purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- ¾ cup of shortening
- 6 tbsp cold water
- 4 cups wild blueberries
- 1 pinch ground cinnamon
- ¼ cup white sugar
- ¼ cup butter chilled and diced
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F or 176C
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour and the salt.
- With a pastry cutter, cut the shortening till the mixture resembles coarse crumbs
- Add the water and mix the mixture forms a ball
- Divide the dough into two portions and shape each into a ball
- Place the dough onto a floured surface and roll from the center to the edges into a 12-inch circle.
- Place about 2 cups of the blueberries onto each circle, leaving a 2-inch border.
- Top with cinnamon, sugar and butter slices
- Roll pastry like a jelly roll, tucking the edges and arranging on a cookie sheet.
- Bake in oven for about 60 minutes.
