
Deep Dish Blueberry Pie
Question: How do you make a blueberry pie even better? Answer: You add even more blueberries. That is the idea behind our Deep Dish Wild Blueberry Pie
Ingredients
- 6 C. fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1 1/2 C. sugar
- 1/2 C. flour
- Grated rind of 1 orange
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 2 C. biscuit mix
- 1/4 C. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 C. water
Instructions

Combine blueberries, sugar, flour and orange rind. Pour into 10x6x2- inch Pyrex baking dish. Dot top with butter. Combine biscuit mix, sugar, cinnamon and water.

Mix well to form a soft dough. Knead a few times on a lightly floured board until smooth Roll out all dough except 1/4 cup on a lightly floured board to an 11 x7-inch oblong.

Place crust over top and down sides of pan. Roll out reserved crust and cut into leaves for decoration. Fasten leaves to top of pie with water.

Brush entire top with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Prick top with a fork to spell the word “ blue "

Bake in preheated oven 425 F or 218 C 15-20 minutes or until Filling is bubbly and crust is brown.
