Wild Blueberry Spice Sauce

Looking for a tart and tangy treat to tempt your taste buds? Try our Wild Blueberry Spice Sauce on ice cream or cake.


  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ½ cup hot water
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen wild blueberries


  1. In a small saucepan combine sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg; gradually stir in water. Cook stirring constantly over low heat until mixture thickens and comes to a boil.
  2. Stir in blueberries; cook, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil. Simmer five minutes.
  3. Serve warm over ice cream or cake. Refrigerate leftovers.

Makes about 1 and two thirds cups of sauce.
