Wild Blueberry Apple Butter
Wild Blueberry Apple Butter has many uses such as spread for toast or bread. It can also be used as a condiment and a spread for pastries.
- 4 cups fresh blueberries
- 4 large green cooking apples peeled, cored and finely chopped (4-5 Cups)
- 4 cups sugar
- ½ tsp ground mace
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
- ¼ tsp ground allspice
Mix all ingredients together in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil then lower heat and simmer for an hour, stirring occasionally until mixture is thick.
Spoon into containers and cover well.
Blueberry apple butter will keep in the refrigerator for up to three weeks. Yield 6 cups.
